gray whale swimming under the zodiac
You can see the light green shadow of the whale starting about one-third of the way down from the top of the photo. The rest of the picture is whale. This guy was feeding in the shallow water by stirring up the mud with one flipper (you can see uprooted weeds just below the lighter part of his body) and filtering it through his baleen. He spent more than an hour doing this in one area next to where we sat in the zodiac, so he must have found good feeding here!
