The neck
of the Pelican
(IC 5067 )

This image was inspired
by a beautiful image recently posted by Wolfgang Promper on his site, http://www.astro-pics.com/.
My image is certainly
not recognizable as the neck of anything, but the nebula that contains this
H-alpha region does definitely look like a pelican – see this
image. Unfortunately, the seeing was poor again. I will try to add some
H-alpha exposure in the near future.
