Yours truly

Jupiter  With  The  Great  Red  Spot

Planetary imaging is now properly assigned to CCD cameras but occasionally an opportunity presents itself to try film once more. This photo was taken on one of the rare nights of good seeing at my place. The focal ratio of 72 was achieved with a Televue 4x Powermate Barlow in tandem with an A-P 2x Barcon on the native f9 RC scope.

 Date  18 January 2002
Scope  RCOS 12.5 inch RC f 9 scope at f72 on A-P 1200 GTO mount
Exposure  Fuji Provia 400F, 1 @ 1/2 sec, no filter
Processing   Stretched and unsharp-masked  in PhotoShop
