Tundra Swans

(Cygnus columbianus)

These swans (three mature and one grayish immature) were about to enter the water when we saw them on a dark and foggy afternoon. According to Sibley, the tundra swan is our smallest swan but larger than any goose. Their necks are clearly longer than those of geese and their black beaks also distinguish them from snow geese. Scroll down for more images.
